Who is Joseph Reitman?

Acting

Joseph Reitman may be best known for playing the villain, Very Bad Santa, on the first season of the TV series Happy! for the SyFy channel, and as Creepy Ed on the 2nd season of the Netlix/Marvel show The Punisher. He has also appeared in over 100 media projects. His more than 50 episodes of television including recurring roles on Married with Children, Charmed,,The Shield,, First Kill on Netflix and National Treasure on Disney+, and guest starring on Young Rock, Supernatural, NCIS; LA, Ray Donovan, CSI Miami, CSI Las Vegas (twice, as 2 different killers), Monk, as well as being a series regular on Townies for ABC. He has also acted in over 30 films including Kevin Smith’s Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, The Perfect Storm, Clueless, M. Night Shyamalan’s Lady In The Water, American Pie 2, Crank 2, Money Monster, Mom & Dad, Archenemy. and Night Train.

Directing & Producing

On the other side of the camera, Joe created and co-produced the poker show Annie Duke Takes On The World for GSN, associate produced the indie film Ten Inch Hero, was a co- executive producer on The Animated Cheech & Chong Movie, and was proud to work as a segment producer for the CW’s Penn & Teller’s : Fool Us. His feature producing credits include Use Me and Coronavirus Conspiracy…which is not about Coronavirus being a conspiracy. Joe is fully vaxxed.

As a DGA director Joe has created, written, and directed numerous commercials that have aired on network television. He has also created and directed comedy segments for CBS’s The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson which eventually led to directing full episodes of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson for sweeps week which he shot all over the city of Paris.

Joe has directed and acted in many theater productions from London to Los Angeles as well.

Life

Joe grew up in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was a multiple sports athlete playing baseball, track and field, and football in high school and college. His high school job was being a ballboy for the Boston Celtics. He first performed on stage in London at the Newham International Festival of Theatre In England. After performing in London he returned knowing he wanted to continue in the theater, and went on to study theater at Pomona College. He also went back to London to study theater at Regent’s college and sing at The Royal Academy before getting his B.A. in Theater and Film from Pitzer College.

He then moved to Los Angeles where he was a nightmare for a few years before his acting career took off.

Outside of Hollywood, Joe played poker professionally from 2006 to 2011, competing in the World Series of Poker 5 times, as well as winning the Stone Cold Nuts Tournament online and beating out 2774 players to win $266,000. He also wrote a comic that was published by Marvel, Spiderman Unlimited #14, and was thrilled to be able to cross that off his bucket list.

Joe also has been a speaker on panels often discussing character development in different forms at many Comic-cons including WonderCon, San Diego Comic-Con, New York Comic-Con and even hosting many panels at Comic Con Portugal.

Joe is also one of the co-founders of Animal Avengers with Shannon Elizabeth, which they started in 2001, and still serves on the board of directors. He feels that it is important to try and create content that informs people on the issues and dangers animals all around the world are facing daily.

Currently he splits his time between Los Angeles, New York and Atlanta.
